Off Off Broadway Debut at Teatro LATEA (New York Theater Fall/Winter Festival 2023)
HOW IT ALL STARTED (FUN STORY)AT THE CUTE AGE OF 2, MY MOTHER PUT ME IN A BEAUTY PAGEANT TO SEE IF I WAS COMFORTABLE BEING IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE ON A STAGE. ONCE MY NAME WAS CALLED TO THE STAGE TO BE PRESENTED, I IMMEDIATELY LET GO OF MOM’S HAND AND WALKED WITH CONFIDENCE, SASS AND POISE TOWARDS THE JUDGES. THE CROWD, WITH ITS CLAPPING AND CHEERING, FROZE ME INTO MY SPOTLIGHT MOMENT; THUS KNOWING MY CAREER WAS GOING TO BE IN THE THEATRICAL BUSINESS. WHEN MY MOMENT WAS SADLY OVER, I THREW MYSELF DOWN ON THE STAGE AND PROCEEDED TO HAVE A TEMPER TANTRUM TO SHOW OFF MY VERSATILE TALENT OF BEING A 'DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE CHARACTER'. I DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE A PLACE THAT MADE ME FEEL SO EXPRESSIVE AND ALIVE! (EVEN IF IT WAS FOR 10 SECONDS) THIS PERFORMANCE GAVE ME THE MOMENTOUS FEELING THAT THE STAGE WAS MY “NEW HOME AWAY FROM HOME”. NOT ONLY DID I CLEARLY PASS THE TEST IF I WAS MEANT FOR THE STAGE, BUT REGARDLESS OF MY 'FIRST PERFORMANCE' FIASCO, I CAME IN THIRD PLACE! (IT WAS THE CUTE BABY FACE BUT EVEN SO THE 'OSCAR AND TONY AWARD' WINNING PERFORMANCE FOR SURE)

ALEXA ROSE PASSANTE (she/her) WAS BORN IN STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK WHERE SHE GREW UP A HEARTBEAT AWAY FROM THE 'LAND OF BROADWAY'! SHE MAY BE A SHORT, LOUD, ITALIAN-AMERICAN NEW YORKER, however, NOT ONLY DOES SHE HAVE A BIG FAMILY, BUT A BIG HEART of gold AND quite a big PERSONALITY! alexa is also part of the lgbtqia+ community embracing her full 'pride' being truly who she is. alexa is currently IN her FINAL YEAR AT THE ACTOR'S STUDIO DRAMA SCHOOL EARNING A MFA degree IN ACTING. she will be graduating may 2024. for the last three years, she has studied under the lee strasberg method, while combining other techniques such as linklater and feldenkrais work in voice; laban, PURE MOVEMENT, butoh, and clowning in movement class, and even various devising style theater techniques. Over the last few years, alexa has made her nyc professional debut on an off-off broadway stage, performed at various theme parks for summer-stock, and has worked on independent short films that have won in various festivals. alexa also graduated from the university at albany in may 2021, earning a ba in theatre followed by a double minor in musical theatre and psychology! fun fact: she was valedictorian of the ualbany program earning the burian award and the agnes. e. futterer scholarship in her senior year. when alexa is not performing, you can find her being a "gym gal" at her local planet fitness, cooking sunday dinner with her nono and family, hiking with her girlfriend, karaoke jamming/dancing at various nightclubs with her best friends, or (when the weather is nice), meditating at the beach while soaking in the sun! alexa is a passionate actor, singer, dancer, entertainer and teaching artist. she is always longing for new work, collaboration, and taking on challenges that inspire her to be more driven and authentic not only as an artist, but as a human being living day to day life!
